Capitalize on the expert knowledge to gain maximum value on these vital issues:   The Course was VERY informative and practical. Topics covered in the course were directly linked to operational constraints faced by OIL. Also, I was really impressed with the trainer's ability to explain advanced concepts using simple language.   ~ Production Engineer - Oil India Limited

Corrosion & Materials Management
Best Practice Series

29th November – 3rd December 2010
Renaissance Hotel - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Large-scale oil and gas production projects are occurring in increasingly difficult environments and in locations which are remote and expensive to access. Factors such as high pressure, high temperature and sour production push materials applications to their limits and require the application of new approaches and new technologies for maximum success. To achieve this the need for knowledge of materials, testing, inspection and monitoring across disciplines and in both Engineering and Operations phases has never been greater; to gain most benefit, this requires that engineers have an understanding of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation techniques. With this insight the opportunity to design, engineer and operate facilities with optimal materials performance can be realized and the lives of both mature assets and new projects can be enhanced significantly.

Together with PetroSync, MI&Corr will lead a "Corrosion & Material Management Best Practice Series" on November 29 - December 3, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I see this as a great opportunity for well engineering, production technology, corrosion & materials professionals to come together to address corrosion prevention and integrity management issues and hope to encourage a lively forum for discussion and cross-pollination:

Program 1: Downhole Corrosion & Materials Best Practices (Nov 29 - Dec 1, 2010). Following an introduction to corrosion and materials, this concentrates on Downhole Corrosion and Material Selection issues for well application throughout the well life-cycle and from the toe to the well-head.

Program 2: Subsea Corrosion & Materials Best Practices (Dec 2 - 3, 2010). After an introduction to corrosion and materials we will detail practical approaches to corrosion and materials issues including mitigation techniques for subsea production equipment.

Key features of the tools and best practices employed in leading companies will be highlighted to help you avoid expensive material-related equipment failures!

Corrosion is a silent killer of your critical production infrastructure, but with the right knowledge that killer that can be controlled; I look forward to meeting you in Kuala Lumpur to assist you to get the most out of you vital assets!
